So how did Ortho-Bionomy® come to Ellesmere in the UK?

Ortho-Bionomy® is taught in many countries world wide, with hundreds of teachers and thousands of Ortho-Bionomy® practitioners. However, there are only a handful, in fact less than one handful, of people that practice the Ortho-Bionomy® here in the UK.

Arthur Lincoln Pauls, the founder of Ortho-Bionomy®, a Canadian, began studying Osteopathy in 1972. He had always sought out Osteopaths due to constant injuries that he suffered from competitive Judo and liked the idea of being able to help his own students with their injuries. Not being in agreement with some of the manipulation techniques practised in Osteopathy he evolved the much gentler, non-forceful methods of Ortho-Bionomy® from 1974 - 1978. During the late seventies and early eighties he travelled around America and Europe publicising his new discoveries, but somehow the UK got left out.
I started learning to become an Ortho-Bionomy® practitioner in Germany in 2007, where I had been living since 1995. I was looking for the answer to how Osteopathy had managed to help my 16 month old daughter walk on her two feet instead of on her knees, when the Osteopath had only held the head of my daughter in her hands! I was in the early stages of recovering from a nasty head injury and whilst looking for an Osteopath had been recommended to see a lady practicing the Ortho-Bionomy®.  After being incapacitated for over three months with severe symptoms of concussion, not being able to walk, having to spend most of the day in a quiet, darkened room, suffering from severe headaches (for which the school medicine seemed to have no answer), this lady managed to get me back on my feet again within weeks and into a position where I was considering a course of study which would maybe give me some answers to how all this worked! I’m not sure if I know all the answers, but I certainly know that it does work!
I started practicing Ortho-Bionomy® in 2012, having my own successful practice in Burgdorf, north-east of Hanover, from 2015. That was the year that I also started working with the horses with Ortho-Bionomy®. A lovely way to work! I am, however, British and I spent most of my holidays as a child in the Welsh border hills near Oswestry. After 22 years in Germany, and in a very flat area of Germany, I was getting pretty home-sick. So when my eldest daughter went off to college and my youngest daughter stated that she had always wanted to go to school in England, I saw my chance and took it! I figured that if I had managed to have a successful practice in a foreign country, speaking a foreign language, then I should also be able to bring the benefits of Ortho-Bionomy® to England. And since September 2017 that is what I have been doing here in Ellesmere, Shropshire.
